Kenyan Police Nab Two Ugandans with Fake US Currency

On November 20, 2019, police in Mombasa's coastal county made a significant arrest, apprehending two Ugandans with a substantial amount of fake US currency.

According to reports, Tindeyebwa Godfrey and Tayebwa Evans were caught with $94,100 (approximately Ksh9.41 million) in fake currency, which they had stashed in a silver safe box.

The two suspects were arrested at Punda Milia Paradise Apartment in Shanzu, Kisauni Sub-County, and a Mercedes Benz belonging to them was confiscated during the operation.

Speaking to the press, Mombasa county deputy county commander Joseph Chebii stated, "The two used the vehicle to get into the country on Monday morning and we arrested them in the evening."

The suspects are being held at the Central Police Station in Mombasa and are expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
