Google has finally caught up with its mobile-focused products by introducing a new timeline editor for movies in the Google Photos web interface.

According to Android Police, the Chrome browser maker has been busy enhancing the Google Photos app on Android and iOS, but left the Photos web interface lacking in features.

However, Google has now added some editing capabilities to the Photos web client, enabling users to do some of the things the mobile app does.

The new web interface allows users to make simple edits to videos, including adding clips, pictures, and live photos, trimming and repositioning elements in the video's timeline, and changing the music used in a video.

While the editor is still lacking some features, such as text overlay and filters, it provides an easy way for users to make minor edits on the videos they share with others online.

The new feature comes alongside other changes to the Google Photos app, including a redesign of the 'info' menu, album sorting, and the transfer of some functions into the new 'Manage your library' feed.
