On Tuesday, Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru Kamotho addressed the media at Serena Hotel, responding to recent insults hurled at her by Laikipia County Women Representative Catherine Waruguru.

Published on November 20, 2019, Waiguru took the high road, stating that it was wrong for women leaders to abuse each other as they should serve as role models.

She acknowledged that while disagreements are inevitable in politics, they should not lead to insults.

Waiguru emphasized the importance of women leaders being role models, saying, "As women, we have to accept that we are in a very unique position with regards to influencing families and society. We cannot go low and expect our children and our society to go up, we must be role models and give a better example."

She also distanced herself and her team, Team Embrace, from the politics of insults, urging everyone to practice politics on an understanding that they can disagree without being disagreeable and insulting.

Waiguru's response comes after Waruguru slammed her, saying she should be concentrating on her marriage and having children instead of traversing the country to drum up support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
