On November 18, 2019, police in Mombasa apprehended two Ugandan nationals, Tindeyebwa Godfrey and Tayebwa Evans, who were found with $94,100 in fake US currency.

The suspects were arrested at Punda Milia Paradise Apartment in Shanzu, Kisauni Sub-County, after they had used a Mercedes Benz to enter the country on Monday morning.

According to Mombasa county deputy county commander Joseph Chebii, the fake currency was stashed in a silver safe box.

The two suspects are being held at the Central Police Station in Mombasa and will be arraigned on Wednesday.
