On October 26th, a devastating flash flood swept away a car carrying Anna Zambi's parents and siblings in Handeni District, Tanga Region, Tanzania, resulting in their tragic deaths.
Anna's family had been traveling from Dar es Salaam to her school in Kilimanjaro when the accident occurred. The family members had chosen not to inform Anna about the incident until she completed her examinations, wanting her to finish in peace, as reported by The Citizen of Tanzania.
After finishing her exams, Anna returned home on Monday, only to learn about the loss of her loved ones. She was shown the graves of her parents, Lingiston Zambi and Winifrida Lymo, and her three siblings, Lulu, Grace, and Andrew.
The Tanzanian government has pledged to support Anna's psychological rehabilitation and education, as announced by the Ministry of Health, Community, Gender, Elderly and Children on Monday.
