On November 19, 2019, Injini EdTech incubator announced the opening of applications for its fourth cohort, providing a platform for startups to access financial and bespoke advisory support from industry experts and skilled business mentors.

Since its inception, Injini has worked with 23 startups to enhance educational outcomes on the continent.

According to Mvelo Hlophe, Founder and CEO of Zaio, a cohort 3 participant, "We also met great mentors that continue to help us." He advises startups considering applying, "You should apply."

With a focus on equipping learners and job seekers with industry-relevant coding skills, Zaio's gamified learning journey helps them gain practical experience and secure jobs with businesses seeking junior developers.

"We are so proud of how far Mvelo and the other members of the previous cohorts have come, and we can’t wait to work with our next cohort," says Krista Davidson, Head of Programmes and Operations at Injini.

Entrepreneurs from across Africa interested in joining Cohort 4 must have registered companies with at least one full-time founder fluent in English and able to travel to South Africa during certain programme phases.

Injini seeks evidence-based solutions addressing key problems in African education, with a minimum viable product or prototype. Founding teams with previous work experience, particularly in education and/or technology, are preferred.

More mature EdTech startups are also welcome to apply.
