Former TV Presenter Scores 404 Marks in KCPE 2019

On November 18, 2019, over one million candidates received their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam results, with girls performing better than boys in four out of six subjects tested.

Among the top performers was Olivia Wanjiku, a 14-year-old student from Camel Catholic Primary School in Utawala, Nairobi county. Wanjiku, a former K24 presenter, scored 404 marks, making her one of the top students in her school.

According to People Daily, Wanjiku attributed her success to the hard work she put in preparing for the examination, listening to her teachers and parents, and keeping the right circle of friends.

"I expected good results but I did not think I would get above 400 marks. The results came as a shocker to me but I am so excited," Wanjiku said.

Wanjiku revealed that she desires to be a criminologist when she grows up. The KCPE results were announced by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha on November 18, 2019.
