On November 19, 2019, a promotion match in Peru between Deportivo Garcilaso and Deportivo Llacuabamba took a violent turn.

After the referee red carded a player from Deportivo Garcilaso, the match descended into chaos.

Players from both teams, along with fans, attacked the match officials, prompting riot police to intervene.

As a result, the away team, Deportivo Llacuabamba, had to be transported out of the stadium in a lorry after their bus was damaged by irate home fans.

The players were also offered police escort as a safety precaution.

Authorities in Peru launched investigations into the incident.
