Kenya's oil market has welcomed a new face at the helm of Vivo Energy Kenya. Peter Murungi, a seasoned Vivo Energy employee, has been appointed as the new Managing Director, effective from December 1st 2019.

This appointment comes after the resignation of Mr Joe Muganda, who took over from Polycarp Igathe in 2017. Mr Murungi has worked for Vivo for the past 12 years in various capacities, including recently leading the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning System.

As Managing Director, Mr Murungi will oversee Vivo Energy Kenya's operations, which are part of Vivo plc, a petroleum company with its headquarters in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Vivo maintains subsidiaries and operations in 16 countries across Africa, supplying, storing, distributing, and retailing a range of petroleum products.

As a Royal Dutch Shell licensee, Vivo operates in the retail of Shell-branded commercial fuels, liquefied petroleum gas, and lubricants. The company is also listed on the London Stock Exchange.
