On November 19, 2019, Silverstone Air's troubles deepened as the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) grounded its fleet, dealing a devastating blow to the airline's operations.

According to an internal communication, the airline has notified its employees of a possible redundancy, citing the significant financial losses incurred due to the regulator's directive.

The airline's woes began on October 11, 2019, when one of its aircraft, 5Y-IZO, crashed at Wilson Airport while departing for Lamu, resulting in no fatalities but significant damage.

Just two weeks later, on October 27, 2019, another Silverstone Air aircraft, 5Y-SMT, clipped an EASAX aircraft at the ramp at Wilson Airport, prompting an unscheduled landing at the Eldoret International Airport.

These incidents have led to a series of challenges for Silverstone Air, which had been vying to become the next domestic flight operator in the country, competing with established players like Kenya Airways' budget carrier Jambojet and Fly540.
