Published on November 19, 2019, Kenya's Victor Wanyama has come under heavy criticism for his performance during the country's 1-1 draw with Togo in a 2020 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi.

Team captain Wanyama appeared off the pace, guilty of misplaced passes and struggling to commandeer the middle of the pack against a physically able Togolese side, managed by veteran coach Claude Le Roy.

Kenyan fans have expressed their disappointment with Wanyama's performance, with some calling for him to be replaced by local players. Kakamega Homeboyz owner Cleophas Shimanyula told Goal.com, 'We are relying too much on Wanyama and it seems the player may have reached his end for the national team.'

Kenya's qualification campaign is now under threat, with the team needing to secure wins in their remaining away fixtures against Togo and Comoros.
