Maureen Kunga, a singer from Elani, has taken a significant step towards healing by forgiving a friend who hurt her in the past.
According to her Instagram post, Kunga held onto the pain for years, which was slowly killing her.
She revealed that she finally felt at peace after letting go of the grudge and forgiving her friend in person.
Sharing her experience, Kunga wrote, 'Happy Smiles and Happy Times and fireworks over my shoulder! This weekend I did a huge thing! I let go of a pain I had been holding in for YEARS and forgave someone (in person) for something that truly hurt me, many years back.'
She emphasized the importance of forgiveness, stating, 'That quote, that harbouring anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die is so real! I was just killing myself slowly and missing out on the possibility of such a great relationship with someone because I couldn’t speak on my pain.'
Maureen Kunga's story serves as a lesson to her fans, urging them to be quick to forgive and avoid holding onto pain.
She concluded by saying, 'Lesson for today: If you can, and if they are here, talk about it and forgive. Regret is a difficult thing to get over!'
