Published on November 19, 2019, gospel artiste Betty Bayo has spoken out about the misconceptions surrounding her life, particularly as a public figure.
During an interview with Mpasho, Betty Bayo addressed some of the most outlandish rumors she's faced, including claims that her children were fathered by a white man, despite their dark skin tone.
'The craziest thing I have heard about myself is that my kids were fathered by a mzungu,' she said. 'Surely how could that be yet they are dark-skinned.'
Another rumor she's had to dispel is the claim that she underwent plastic surgery, which she vehemently denies.
'There was a time I went to the US and delivered, I was not stressed so I came back looking more beautiful and people started talking,' she explained. 'I have NEVER done plastic surgery and I have never even considered it.'
When asked about her relationship with her ex-husband, comedian Kanyari, Betty Bayo revealed that she keeps in touch with him only on matters related to their children.
'I do keep in touch with him but only on matters where the kids are involved,' she said. 'I do not keep tabs on his relationship so I am not sure if he has moved on or not. I do not miss him because if I did I would have gone back to him.'
As a woman who has been through a tumultuous marriage, Betty Bayo offered words of wisdom to her fellow women, advising them to walk away from toxic relationships if they feel they are not working out.
'I HAVE LEARNED THAT MARRIAGE IS NOT EASY,' she said. 'I LEARNED TO FORGIVE, TO LET GO AND I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE IN MARRIAGE TO DO THE SAME.'
She also cautioned against the dangers of holding onto grudges and the importance of letting go, especially in the face of adversity.
'BUT NOWADAYS WHEN PEOPLE FIGHT OVER SMALL ISSUES THEY KILL EACH OTHER,' she said. 'KINDLY IF A RELATIONSHIP IS NOT WORKING JUST LET IT GO.'
