Heavy Rainfall Expected in 13 Kenyan Counties

Kenya is bracing for heavy rainfall in 13 counties over the next seven days, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department.

The heaviest rainfall is expected in Embu, Machakos, Isiolo, Mandera, Tharaka, Kirinyaga, and Meru counties, where residents can expect cumulative rainfall of up to 100mm.

Other regions expected to receive heavy rainfall include Kitui, Taita-Taveta, Makueni, Kajiado, and Wajir counties.

Residents in Nairobi and other areas can expect moderate rainfall of between 50-100mm during this period.

According to Stella Aura, the director of the meteorological department, the rainfall is expected to be stronger than what Kenyans experienced in October.

Published on November 18, 2019, the Kenya Meteorological Department's 7-Day Rainfall Forecast warned of moderate rainfall in several parts of the country.
