On November 19, 2019, the fight against waterborne infections in Suba North Constituency received a significant boost with the launch of four water projects by the State.

The projects, undertaken by the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Sanitation through the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency, are expected to benefit more than 15,000 residents of the constituency.

The projects include Oseno dam, whose construction is already complete in Gembe East Location, as well as Min Arot borehole, Tweta, and Ondiegi water pans.

Water Principal Secretary Joseph Irungu, accompanied by Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga and Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo, commissioned Oseno dam and performed ground-breaking ceremonies for the other three projects.

The projects will supply more than 112,200 cubic meters of water per day, aiming to help eradicate waterborne diseases in the area, according to Mr. Irungu.
