On November 18, 2019, Andy Michael Munyiri, the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Primary Examinations (KCPE) top performer, made headlines after scoring 440 out of the possible 500 marks.
Munyiri, who aspires to become an automotive engineer, credited his teachers for his stellar performance, saying they were responsible for the preparation he received before the examination.
He also expressed gratitude to his extended family members, particularly his parents, who he referred to as his greatest source of inspiration.
‘I think it was the support from my family that made me keep on working hard. Whenever I didn’t get the marks I expected in class, I would still kept pushing harder so that I reach my goal,’ Munyiri stated.
He further stated that his father, an insurance marketer, and his mother were his biggest inspirations, and he thanked them for their unwavering support.
‘I’d like to be an automotive engineer; I’d like to deal with cars, especially the car engines,’ Munyiri said.
