On Monday, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results for 2019 were announced, revealing top performers from across the country.
Among the top scorers were three pupils from Precious Talent Top School, who managed to achieve scores of 408, 405, and 402 marks respectively. These students, Grace Achieng Lwoka, Nicole Sangwera Sianyo, and Martin Mwangi Yiminyi, had been transferred to other schools after their institution was shut down following a tragic incident in September 2019.
On September 23, 2019, two classrooms at Precious Talent Top School collapsed during morning preparations, resulting in the loss of eight lives and serious injuries to 64 pupils. The school was subsequently closed after initial investigations and recommendations from a task force.
Andy Michael Munyiri of Damacrest School, Thogoto, emerged as the top candidate in this year's KCPE examinations with a score of 440 marks out of a possible 500.
