On November 18, 2019, the US government imposed a travel ban on Amos Sitswila Wako, a former Chief Justice of Kenya, and his family, including his wife Flora Ngaira and son Julius.

The ban was announced by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, citing Wako's alleged involvement in corruption and embezzlement.

Wako, a former senator from Busia County, served in office from 2013 to 2017, following the ousting of former Finance Minister Chris Okemo.
