February 14th, 2019, was supposed to be a special day for Bongo star Diamond Platnumz and his fiancée Tanasha Donna Oketch, but the wedding plans were put on hold.

Announced in December 2018, the wedding was a highly anticipated event, with Diamond Platnumz praising Tanasha Donna as the love of his life and a drama-free lady.

"I have already planned my wedding to be on Valentine’s Day next year. Valentine will be on Thursday so the wedding will be on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If it happens that there is anything important I will change (wedding date) but I want it so much to be next year," Diamond Platnumz had said in a statement.

However, as 2019 came to a close, Diamond Platnumz remained tight-lipped about his wedding plans, leaving fans wondering what had gone wrong.

It wasn't until a recent interview with Global Publishers that Queen Darleen, Diamond Platnumz's sister, revealed the real reason behind the postponed wedding.

According to Queen Darleen, Diamond Platnumz was afraid that marriage would tie him down and make it difficult for him to balance his music career and family life.

"Sisi hujadiliana sana kuhusu masuala ya ndoa, [Diamond] ni mtu anayehofia sana kujiingiza kwenye ndoa. Anataka ajiandae ipasavyo kabla ya kuamua kufunga pingu za maisha," Queen Darleen said in the interview.
