Jeff Koinange, a renowned Kenyan entertainer, has had a storied career spanning multiple continents, including a stint at CNN. However, a recent close call on the road has left him shaken.
On Sunday, November 17, 2019, Koinange hosted the Sunday Live bulletin on Citizen TV, where he shared a candid anecdote about an experience he had the previous weekend.
While driving back from Chaka Ranch with his son Jamal Mbiyu Koinange, Koinange encountered a group of children crossing the road, prompting him to stop just in time to avoid a collision.
‘We just drove back from Chaka Ranch, my goodness. I was driving as well as I could but you know at some point, kids cross the road. And you know, when there is a bunch of kids and one crosses (the road), then the rest follow absolutely,’ Koinange explained in a sideline banter with co-host Victoria Rubadiri.
The incident was a stark reminder of the importance of road safety, particularly during the festive season. The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) had issued a warning to motorists to observe all traffic rules.
Fortunately, Koinange was able to deal with the scare and stopped just a hairbreadth away from the kids with no one getting injured.
