ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi's party is facing a crisis of influence, with his candidate, Eliud Owalo, coming in a distant third in the Kibra by-election. In a bid to salvage his party's fortunes, Mudavadi has been secretly reaching out to ODM leader Raila Odinga, as seen in this photo.

According to sources, Mudavadi's party is now seeking to revive the 2017 NASA Coalition agreement, which would see Raila Odinga endorse Mudavadi in the 2022 presidential elections. However, the ODM party has been adamant that NASA is already on its deathbed and has moved on to seek new political partners.

The relationship between ODM and ANC was strained when Musalia Mudavadi's Secretary General, Barack Muluka, began attacking Raila Odinga through the media. Mudavadi later disowned the attacks, stating that Muluka's opinions were his own personal views.

With this latest revelation, Kenyans are keen to see whether Mudavadi's secret outreach to Raila Odinga will revive the defunct NASA coalition.
