On November 18, 2019, Babu Owino, a prominent Kenyan politician, revealed that he had been receiving death threats and was being followed by suspicious individuals.
According to Owino, he has been targeted by a group of men who have been consistently following him during the day and at night in a saloon vehicle with four occupants.
He reported the incident to the police station and was issued an OB number, OB21/17/11/2019, at 1728HRS.
Owino, known for speaking out in defense of ordinary people, stated that he will not stop expressing his beliefs despite the threats and attempts on his life.
He called upon the Inspector General of Police to launch investigations into the matter and bring those responsible to book.
As he put it, 'I am not afraid of dying for my beliefs and in service to my people. Tialala!'
