On November 16, 2019, a dramatic incident unfolded in Buruburu, Nairobi, when a bus belonging to the Double M company, plying route 23, overturned and rolled several times after being allegedly carjacked.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was carjacked by suspected gangsters, who then lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the overturning and injuries to several passengers.
One passenger sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for treatment.
Police recovered two homemade guns at the scene and launched a manhunt for other members of the gang who managed to escape.
