Ngina Kenyatta's recent speech as the Mama Ngina Foundation director has sparked outrage among Kenyans On Twitter, with many expressing frustration over her suggestions on how to address unemployment.
During the speech, Ngina Kenyatta purported to empower the youth by encouraging them to study specific courses that would help them get jobs and, in turn, make a positive impact in their communities.
However, her words fell flat with many, who felt that she was out of touch with the reality of unemployment in Kenya.
Andrew Kibe, a popular radio host, was among those who expressed their discontent with Ngina Kenyatta's speech. He suggested that she may not be the problem, but rather a product of the system that has failed many Kenyans.
“I have no problem with Ngina but unfortunately, she has to bear the hate Kenyans have for her family. It is because your father has messed us up. Instead of giving us that speech, tell your father. He needs to hear ways of helping Kenyans steer away from poverty,” Kibe said.
Kamene Goro, another popular radio host, also weighed in on the issue, suggesting that Ngina Kenyatta needed to do her research before speaking on such sensitive topics.
“Walk a mile in my shoes and then come and give me a solution. You have no idea as to what is going on in my life. People do not want to be broke or like being broke. Situations have found them there,” Goro said.
Ngina Kenyatta's speech was in response to concerns raised by her father, President Uhuru Kenyatta, who had expressed frustration over the high levels of unemployment in Kenya.
