Published on November 18, 2019, Ngina Kenyatta's speech at the Africa Philanthropy Conference in Nairobi has sparked a heated debate on social media.

As the Director of the Kenyatta Trust, Ngina urged African youth to venture into new and innovative fields to address unemployment, citing the example of a student from Turkana who was sponsored by the organization and is now studying Petroleum Engineering in China.

She quoted Lao Tsu, saying, 'Give a man a fish and feed him for one day, but show him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.'

However, many Kenyans online were quick to point out that Ngina's family background makes her an unlikely advocate for addressing unemployment, with some accusing her father, President Uhuru Kenyatta, of exacerbating the problem.

Some of the reactions included @Moha001_Onyango's tweet, 'Ngina Kenyatta speaks impeccable English... Very good English but she doesn't understand the suffering of Wanjiku nor the bad economy caused by her moribund & inept father.'

Others, like @Dmarigiri, questioned Ngina's credibility, saying, 'How can a Born in a wealthy family advice ordinary Kenyan youths??...? It's like Carnivore advising herbivore on the merits of eating Flesh and She doesn't know what poverty means.'
