On November 16, 2019, a video clip emerged on social media showing students of Multimedia University in Kenya scrambling for safety after a troop of baboons disrupted their basketball game.
The video, which quickly went viral, shows the students playing basketball when the baboons suddenly charge towards them, prompting the students to run for their lives.
According to some Twitter users, this was not the first time the baboons had interrupted students' activities at the university.
As reported by the African Wildlife Foundation, baboons are highly social animals that live in groups of up to 50 members, typically consisting of seven or eight males and about twice as many females and their young ones.
The video sparked a range of reactions on social media, with some users finding it humorous and others expressing concern for the students' safety.
One Twitter user joked that the baboons were 'human-wildlife conflict' while another user suggested that the students should have roasted one of the baboons in the open to end the game.
