Published on November 18, 2019, the Kenya Year Book has shed light on the government's progress towards achieving the Big 4 agenda.

The book highlights the growing influence of technology, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, which have opened up massive employment opportunities for computing experts.

According to the Year Book, these technologies are driving industrialization and have improved service delivery, thanks to the deployment of backbone infrastructure such as fibre cables that has enabled live streaming in homes and schools.

Edward Mwasi, the CEO of Kenya Year Book, emphasized the importance of creating conducive environments for businesses to thrive, rather than building offices for bureaucrats.

The book also notes that the explosion of social media has made e-commerce a reality, and efforts to reform the education sector have led to the introduction of the Competency-Based Curriculum and strengthening of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools and colleges.

The government's efforts to reduce disparities in salaries are also highlighted in the Year Book.
