Kenyan politician Babu Owino has spoken out about a recent assassination attempt on his life, which he says has left him shaken but determined to continue his work.
According to Owino, he has been the subject of hateful abuse and threats for several months, with the situation escalating in recent weeks.
On November 17, 2019, Owino reported the attempt to the Parliament Police Station, filing a report under OB21/17/11/2019.
He has called on the Inspector General of Police to launch an investigation into the matter and bring those responsible to justice.
Despite the danger he faces, Owino remains resolute in his commitment to his people and his politics, saying 'I am not afraid of dying for my beliefs and in service to my people.'
Comrade Babu Owino, MP for Embakasi East and Leader of the Youth For Africa Movement, has been a vocal advocate for ordinary people and has faced backlash from those in power.
He urges those behind the assassination attempt to be brought to book, saying 'I call upon the Inspector General of Police to immediately launch investigations into this issue.'
