On November 17, 2019, Sarah Wairimu Cohen, the main suspect in the murder of Tob Cohen, requested the DCI to produce records of communication with 23 individuals.

Among those listed are Uhuru Kenyatta's cousins, Ngengi Muigai and Wangui Ngengi, as well as Captain Muigai Kungu.

Wairimu also requested records of communication with the DCI's head, George Kinoti, and the Director of Public Prosecutions, Catherine Mwaniki.

According to Wairimu's lawyer, Philip Murgor, the Director of Public Prosecutions had refused to provide records of communication, instead choosing to provide only the charges against Wairimu.

Wairimu and her co-accused, Peter Karanja, were charged with murder after Tob Cohen's body was found in a septic tank in his home in Nairobi.

Wairimu's lawyer has accused the prosecution of withholding evidence and only providing information that incriminates Wairimu.
