On November 17, 2019, at 11:22:33 GMT +0300, Mirror reported on a remarkable story of a mother's commitment to the environment.

Mum Lorelei Cole, 34, moved to an energy firm that only supplies green power, driven by her concern for the planet's well-being. She took her mission to cut carbon emissions to the school gates, where she encountered a receptive audience.

"I am really concerned about the impact we are having on the planet so it is easy for me to speak to people about this and persuade them to switch to green energy," Lorelei said.

Her approach was not only effective but also lucrative, as she earned referral vouchers worth Sh98,558 by convincing her son's schoolmates, friends, family members, and neighbours to switch to green energy.

"People I have spoken to were really positive about switching, especially when they also realise going green will save them money," Lorelei said.

Notably, Lorelei's efforts have not only contributed to reducing carbon emissions but also supported charitable causes, as she used the vouchers to purchase reusable products and a cookbook that aids Unicef's Children of Syria Appeal.

While Lorelei's achievement is impressive, it pales in comparison to the top referral earners, who have pocketed significant amounts of vouchers by convincing hundreds of people to switch to green energy.
