On September 21, 2018, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) team, led by coach Daniel Bor, made a historic appearance at the KVF match at Wote grounds in Makueni County.
As they prepare for the National Volleyball League play-offs at the Kasarani Gymnasium next week, the police side is determined to make a statement.
“Underrate us at our own peril. We qualified for the play-offs by merit, not by chance,” coach Bor warned their opponents.
DCI finished fourth in the regular season and will face stiff competition from champions Kenya Prisons, seasoned campaigners Kenya Pipeline, and KCB in the three-day extravaganza.
Despite being debutants, the team is confident in their abilities, with coach Bor stating, “We are going to the play-offs as worthy opponents and ready to give all the three seasoned teams a run for their money.”
The team will heavily bank on the experienced duo of captain Caroline Sirengo and her assistant Maureen Wekesa, who have been instrumental in their success.
DCI will take on KCB on Friday, followed by a match against Pipeline on Saturday and champions Prisons the following day.
