Namibia's Best Startup: Macquarie Medical Care Wins Seedstars Competition

On November 16, 2019, Macquarie Medical Care made history by being named the best startup in Namibia by Seedstars World.

As the winner, Macquarie Medical Care will represent Namibia at the Seedstars Africa Summit and receive an all-inclusive trip to the event. The startup will also have the chance to win a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland, where it will compete for a 500K USD investment prize. Additionally, the winner will receive 3 months access to the investment readiness program.

Seedstars World's local partner, GreenTec Capital Africa Foundation, organized the event in collaboration with GIZ Startup Namibia and media partners. The competition attracted interest from over 33 startups, with Genetix Metazoa and Tuma Technologies taking the second and third spots, respectively.

Other startups that pitched at the event included Autono-Me, Nam-Oceanic Kelp Production Enterprise, Derenas Investments CC, NamCloud Investments, Tasked Technology Solution CC, Nghishe Biotech, and EstApp.

Seedstars World will next visit Cape Town at Seedspace Capetown to select the best startup in South Africa. The organization is looking for smart startups that solve regional issues and/or develop profitable products for the global market.
