On November 16, 2019, at around 9:52 PM, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives made a significant arrest in Likoni, Mombasa County.
Chief Inspector Charles Onyango, a senior officer at the Likoni Sub-County Directorate of Criminal Investigation, was apprehended while receiving a Sh20,000 bribe in Mtongwe, Likoni.
According to a police report obtained by Nation, the suspect was booked under OB number 77 of November 16, 2019, at the Central Police Station in Mombasa.
Before being taken to the police station, Mr. Onyango was presented at the EACC Mombasa offices on Nkurumah Road, where he recorded a statement.
He spent a few hours at the anti-graft offices before being transferred to the police station.
