Journalist Richard Muema Survives Shooting, Regains Consciousness

On November 15, 2019, journalist Richard Muema's life hung in the balance after being shot seven times in a brutal attack. Miraculously, he has now regained consciousness and is on the road to recovery.

Admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Muema's family is optimistic about his recovery. His wife, Mary Muema, who visited him in hospital, revealed that they are grateful for the doctors at KNH who have attended to him well.

Speaking to Citizen TV, Mary Muema expressed her gratitude, saying, 'These few days we have seen a miracle, he is a miracle and we thank God for the doctors at KNH for the way they have attended to him very well.'

Richard Muema's brother also expressed his gratitude, adding that they would like help footing his escalating medical expenses.

Despite the challenges he faces, Muema's family remains hopeful. The couple has twins, and Muema's wife wished him a happy birthday while he was in the hospital.
