Kasarani Man Shot 8 Times by Robbers Regains Consciousness

Richard Muema, a freelance journalist, was shot eight times by robbers in Kasarani, but has since regained consciousness and sent a birthday message to his wife.

According to reports, Muema was shot at a friend's shop in Kasarani on an unknown date, but was able to remember and wish his wife a happy birthday on November 15, 2019, while in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

His wife, Mary Muema, expressed gratitude to the doctors at KNH for their round-the-clock care, saying, "Actually today is my birthday na ameniambia (he has told me), happy birthday babe,"

Muema's brother, Donnie Munyao, also praised the doctors, saying, "These few days we have seen a miracle. He is a miracle and we thank God for the doctors at KNH for the way they have attended to him very well,"

However, Muema's recovery comes with a hefty price tag, with his family appealing for help to cover the escalating hospital bill.

Meanwhile, the suspects behind the shooting are still at large, with Kasarani OCPD, Peter Kimani, confirming that they are still searching for the perpetrators.
