Breaking the News: Nairobi Women Share Pregnancy Reveal Stories

On a Facebook closed group for mums, a user sparked a conversation about how they broke the news of their pregnancy to their parents while still living under their roof.

She shared her personal experience, revealing that she had to tell her mother the truth after initially claiming she had malaria.

Her post attracted hundreds of reactions from women who also shared their stories of how they revealed their pregnancy to their parents.

Some women used creative excuses, such as telling their parents they were eating a cold juicy orange or that they had eaten something that caused them to vomit.

One woman even sent her parents two of her best friends, who pretended to be her friends and helped her break the news.

Another woman revealed that her mother had suspected she was pregnant before she even noticed herself, and had been given side eye by her mother's friends.

One woman's father was the first to notice her pregnancy, and had even supported her throughout her pregnancy and beyond.
