Kenyan Olympic champion Vivian Cheruiyot is making a comeback to the marathon scene, with a scheduled appearance at the Valencia Marathon on December 1.

Cheruiyot, who was ranked number one female marathon runner in the world in 2018 after clocking a personal best of 2:18:31 at the London Marathon, had withdrawn from the Berlin Marathon earlier this year due to a tendon injury.

With Brigid Kosgei having recently broken the world record, Cheruiyot will be keen to show that she is also a force to be reckoned with on the road, just as she was on the track.

Cheruiyot has a total of five marathons under her belt, and will be hoping to run an even faster time in Valencia.
