President Uhuru Kenyatta has expressed concern over early campaigning by some leaders from Mlima Kenya, saying it undermines his leadership.
Speaking at a meeting with leaders from the region at Sagana Lodge on November 15, 2019, Uhuru criticized them for engaging in premature campaigns while his administration's agenda was still incomplete.
'Politics has become too chaotic, and campaigns are being conducted every day, making it seem like elections will be held tomorrow,' Uhuru said. 'Why do you want to rush into campaigns before I have even finished my work? Why are we not addressing the common citizen's problems first?'
Uhuru also commended the peaceful Kibra by-election, saying it was free from violence and did not disrupt the normal functioning of the community.
