On November 15, 2019, Pastor Paul Kuria, also known as Man Kush of Hope International Ministries, sparked controversy with his claims about his relationships with women.
In an interview, Kuria stated that he has many female contacts in his phone because he is not gay. He also implied that his wife's phone contains a long list of men, suggesting that she is straight.
When asked about his personal life, Kuria said, "I'm not perfect, but I don't do some things others pastors do. When I offer a free ride to a woman, that does not mean we will do anything at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour."
Kuria also shared his personal story, revealing that he initially planned to have eight children but settled for three due to financial constraints. He relied on digging pit latrines until his mother discouraged him, saying, "If my children were useless, I would have been useless too."
That incident marked a turning point for Kuria, who then ventured into God's ministry. He began singing and preaching in open markets, where people would leave their work to listen to him.
