Published on November 15, 2019, Mauricio Pochettino's frustration with Tottenham's transfer dealings has come to the fore, with the Argentine coach reportedly fuming over the club's failure to sign Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho this summer.

Pochettino worked with Coutinho at Espanyol and was keen to bring him back to the Premier League, but the Brazilian opted to join Bayern Munich on a loan deal instead.

According to reports, Pochettino made his feelings clear to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, expressing his disappointment at the club's inability to secure the signing of the former Liverpool star.

Spurs' poor start to the season continued with a 1-1 draw against Sheffield United, leaving them with just three wins from their opening 12 league games.

Pochettino has spoken about the need for a 'painful rebuild' at the club, but the pressure is mounting on him to deliver results, with his future at the helm of the team hanging in the balance.

"I think you can see that yes, we need to find the balance," Pochettino said. "We are building a team during the season, while competing in the Champions League and Premier League, the toughest league in the world, and always that is dangerous, this type of situation can happen. You expect better results than you get. Of course we are in a process to build and we'll see if we have time to build what we want."
