On November 15, 2019, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed Manchester City's appeal against UEFA's decision to refer the English champions to its adjudicatory chamber over alleged Financial Fair Play violations.

According to the CAS, Manchester City had not exhausted the legal remedies available to them prior to the appeal, making their initial appeal inadmissible.

UEFA had referred Manchester City to its adjudicatory chamber in May after the club's investigatory chamber found evidence of alleged Financial Fair Play violations, including the supply of false financial information.

The investigation into Manchester City is based on leaked emails published by German magazine Der Spiegel as part of 'Football Leaks'.

Manchester City could face possible punishments, including a suspension from the Champions League, a transfer ban, or a fine.
