President Uhuru Kenyatta's Sagana summit has kicked off with no leaders from the Tangatanga faction in attendance, despite their strong presence in the region.

According to the summit's agenda, no leaders from the Tangatanga faction were scheduled to speak, a move that has been seen as a deliberate attempt to exclude them from the event.

The summit, which is being held at the Sagana Lodge in Nyeri, is expected to focus on the 2022 elections and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Among the speakers at the summit are Governor Anne Waiguru, who is expected to speak on behalf of the county governments, and Senator Njeru Ndwiga, who will address the concerns of the senators.

Other speakers include Wambui Nyutu, who will speak on behalf of the youth, and Peter Munga, the former chairman of Equity Bank.

MBunge Ngunjiri Wambugu will also speak on behalf of the MPs from the region.

Despite the absence of Tangatanga leaders, the summit is expected to be a significant event in the region, with many expecting it to address the contentious issues of the 2022 elections and the BBI.
