Deputy President William Ruto has been at the center of controversy since the Kibra by-election, with some of his allies accusing the public of being responsible for the loss of their candidate, McDonald Mariga.

However, a group of Jubilee MPs, led by George Aladwa (Makadara) and Muthoni wa Muchomba (Kiambu Women Representative), have come out to ask Ruto to accept defeat and stop blaming the public.

Speaking during a press conference at Parliament Buildings on Thursday, November 14, 2019, Wamuchomba said it was time for Ruto to accept that they had lost the election and stop blaming the public.

"We want to advise the Deputy President and his friends to accept that they lost the election and stop blaming the public who had nothing to do with the outcome," Wamuchomba said.

The MPs also accused Ruto of trying to find a reason to oppose the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, which they said would be tabled in Parliament soon.

"They know that we will defeat them when the report is tabled in Parliament," Wamuchomba added.

The MPs who attended the press conference included Simba Arati (Dagoretti North), Ngujiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town), and Fatma Gedi (Wajir Women Representative).
