According to Banky W, Wizkid's colleague and friend, the answer lies in Wizkid's commitment to unity among African artistes. In an interview at the Hyatt Regency in Dar es Salaam, Wizkid explained that when Diamond called him, he didn't hesitate, saying, 'When Diamond called me I did not think about it twice, Just one call and I say “Yoo..am definitely coming!” Not because I love Diamond, not because I love Tanzania, but the fact that it is a festival that unites all the artistes in Africa.'
