Depression is a silent killer that affects many people, but only a few have the courage to speak up or seek help.

According to a recent social media post, comedian Zeddy asked men to share their stories of battling depression after losing their jobs and how their loved ones treated them.

Many Kenyan men responded, sharing their heart-wrenching stories of emotional abuse and mistreatment by their wives.

One man, Karanja Warwathe, shared a story of how his wife would constantly question him, saying 'mbona wewe sio kama wanaume wengine' (why aren't you like other men?).

Another man, Dan Gikang'a, revealed that his wife had given him a 'timetable' for their conjugal rights.

Many men shared similar stories of being treated poorly by their wives, with some even being forced to sit in the back seat of their own car while their wives and her friends sat in the front.

These stories highlight the need for support and understanding for men who are struggling with depression and emotional abuse.

As one man, Muru Shi, pointed out, men are often expected to be 'providers' and this can lead to a lot of stress and pressure.

It's time for us to break the silence and support those who are struggling.
