As of November 15, 160 former workers at Mediamax Networks, the parent company of K24 TV, are still waiting for their severance package after being laid off on October 30.

According to a report, the media house had promised a generous send-off package to the affected workers, including salaries for the months of October and November, as well as severance and leave pay.

However, weeks after the layoffs, the workers are yet to receive their pay, which is estimated to run into millions.

One of the axed workers, who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke, claimed that the firm's human resource manager promised to settle the dues by the end of the second week of November.

"The pay was supposed to come after two days but three weeks later, we are yet to receive it. When I asked the HR, he told me that I would receive the money by the end of this week," the worker said.

Another source threatened to take matters to court if the pay does not reflect in his account by the end of the day.
