On November 15, 2019, music producer and artiste Naiboi, born Michael Kennedy Claver, announced the signing of pop duo Band Beca to his label Naiboi Worldwide.
Naiboi, who has been a top music act in Kenya since rebranding from Rapdamu, made the announcement on Instagram to promote the band's new release, Kionjo.
He asked his fans to support his new signees as they look to re-establish themselves in the scene after a long hiatus.
Naiboi wrote, 'Yooooza!!! A Naiboi worldwide presents | My New Signeez @thebandbeca are shmookin Hawt on this new one #Kionjo.out on YouTube. Naomba support zenyu my people. From Kenya to the world with Love.'
Band Beca, made up of Becky Sangolo and Carol Kamweru, broke into the scene in 2017 when they featured in Coke Studio Africa. They went on to release hits such as 'Toka', 'Brathe', 'Rie or Die', 'Tonight' ft Petra.
The Sauti Academy alumni have been relatively quiet over the last year but are looking set to pick up where they left with the release of 'Kionjo'.
