On November 2, 2019, a Kenya Cup match between Menengai cream Homeboyz and Top Fry Nakuru RFC was played at Nakuru Athletics Club.
However, the club is currently facing a crisis, with the playing unit going on a go-slow and the chairman, Mwangi Mucemi, resigning two weeks ago.
Former club chairman Leshan Taruru has been appointed to head an interim committee, which includes Dennis Ombui as deputy, Edward Moseti as secretary, Duncan Ndegwa as Director of Legal Affairs, Harry Ombati as Director of Tournaments, Ian Mwangi as Director of Marketing, and Donald Okoyo as treasurer.
Former chairmen Mwangi Mucemi and Aljabri Saleh have been retained as trustees of the club, alongside lawyer Andrew Musangi and club patron Giles Littlewood.
The interim committee has also appointed Felix Oloo, the head coach of the Kenya Lionesses, as the acting head coach of Nakuru RFC, following the resignation of Mitch Ocholla, who has joined Impala Saracens.
According to Edward Moseti, the secretary of the interim committee, the committee's mandate is to carry on with the club's activities and conduct fresh elections.
Meanwhile, Menengai Oil Refineries Limited has renewed its sponsorship of Nakuru RFC for the 2019/2020 season, which includes their participation in the national Sevens circuit and the Kenya Cup League.
