Mohiri Wins Seedstars Botswana, Eyes Global Summit

On November 14, 2019, Mohiri, a job alerts service, made history by being crowned the 'Best Startup in Botswana' at the Seedstars Gaborone competition.

Thato Kasongo, the founder of Mohiri, expressed his excitement at being chosen as the winner, saying, 'We are extremely delighted to have been chosen by the judge’s as this year’s Seedstars Gaborone winner. We look forward to representing ourselves and the country at the regional Summit in Johannesburg and hopefully the Global Summit in Switzerland.'

Mohiri's win comes with a prize package that includes an all-expenses-paid trip to the Seedstars Africa Summit in Johannesburg and a chance to win a $500,000 investment prize at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland. The startup will also receive three months of access to the investment readiness program.

Other startups that made it to the top three were Classmates and Vimosure. The competition saw a total of nine startups pitch their ideas, including Global GamePlay BW, Khadi Agri Holdings, Leintel Codemasters Holdings, Rockville Solutions pty ltd, SkyHub, Sturgeon.digital, and Vodcast TV.

Seedstars World will next be hosting a competition in Cape Town at Seedspace Capetown to find the best startup in South Africa. Interested startups can apply on their website, www.seedstarsworld.com.
