On November 14, 2019, Harambee Stars secured a crucial draw against Egypt's Pharaohs in a 2021 AFCON qualifier match held in Borg El Arab, Egypt.
Michael Olunga, a Japanese-based Kenyan striker, scored the equalizing goal in the 67th minute, canceling out Mahmoud Kahraba's first-half strike for Egypt.
The draw was a welcome relief for Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi, who had to navigate the team through a series of financial challenges since their departure to Egypt for the match.
With this result, Harambee Stars remain in Group G, alongside Comoros and Togo, and will face off against each other in Nairobi on November 18, 2019.
